Fifth Grade Teachers
My name is Joya Clark and this is my seventeenth year teaching fifth grade at Huron Academy. I graduated from Wayne State University in 2000 earning a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a major in Science. In 2011 I continued my education by completing a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Saginaw Valley State University. In addition to challenging my students to always strive for excellence, I also encourage them to grow in respect and responsibility as they become active and confident learners.
I feel that parent/teacher communication is important for a successful year in the classroom. Throughout this fifth grade adventure if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call (586) 690-8180 or send an email message to email@example.com

Hello, my name is Ilissa Dominick, and I am thrilled to be starting my first year at Huron Academy teaching 5th grade! I graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2014 with a minor in Elementary Education and a major in English/Language Arts. Since graduating, I have taught both kindergarten and 2nd grade, but 5th grade will be the best adventure yet! I am looking forward to challenging my students to their full potential and encourage them to be questioning learners. Above all, creating a classroom community of kindness and respect is our number one focus this year.
I believe that we all are a team (parents, teacher, students) and to be successful, it is important to have open communication. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out at any time so that our students have the best opportunity to become successful, confident learners!
