Mrs. Filippi
Principal

Rhonda Filippi has been in the field of Education since 1989.  She graduated from Oakland University with a Bachelors of Science in Education and a Masters of Arts in Teaching. Mrs. Filippi has served as a classroom teacher in Mt. Clemens Public School and Genesis, a small private Catholic school in Detroit. She also worked at the International School of Beverly Hills for Senator Jack Faxon for several years. She was the math instructor of children from around the world.  Her twenty years in education she has experience in public, private and now charter schools.  As the principal of Huron Academy in Sterling Heights. Mrs. Filippi and her team have received a number of awards in the charter school arena.   Huron won the Summit Award for leadership and she was nominated for principal of the year from MAPSA in 2002. She won the Entrepreneurial Award and all of Huron won the Academic Excellence Award in 2003.  The school has recently won the Top Performer Award for MEAP from Ferris State in 2009.
