Hello and welcome to computers!!
My name is Miss Jasmund and this will be my second year teaching computers. I teach K-6 computers, as well as act as Huron’s Librarian and Webmaster.I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a major in Child Development and minors in History and Physical Science from Central Michigan University in 2008. Currently, I am attending Central Michigan University to receive my Master’s degree in Educational Technology, which I will receive in the spring of 2011.
Kindergarten-First Grade: You can expect your child to acquire/enhance basic computer knowledge and techniques. Your child will also participate in centers that use technology to reinforce Huron’s curriculum. Such programs include: Jumpstart Kindergarten, Jumpstart First Grade, Clifford's Thinking Adventures, Math Zoo Zillions, A to Zap!, Knock Knock, Learn about Life Science, Sesame Street, Starfall.com, Bob the Builder, Paintgo, and many more. In addition, your child will be introduced to beginning keyboarding lessons by using the Type to Learn Jr. program. As with the older grades, your child will get the experience of working in Microsoft programs and Internet Explorer during their center time.
Second-Sixth Grade: You can expect your child to acquire/enhance basic computer knowledge and techniques. Your child will learn proper keyboarding techniques by participating in the Type to Learn 4 program as well. Your child will also have the opportunity to work in the Microsoft programs: Paint, Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint. In addition, your child will get the experience of working in Internet Explorer and Google Earth.
I am looking forward to an exciting year with your child!
Thank you,
Miss Jasmund
