Welcome to Computers!!  

My name is Miss Jasmund and this is my fourth year teaching computers. I teach K-6 computers, as well as act as Huron’s Librarian and Webmaster. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a major in Child Development and minors in History and Physical Science from Central Michigan University in 2008, and I received my Master’s degree in Educational Technology from Central Michigan University in May 2011. 

Kindergarten-First Grade: You can expect your child to acquire/enhance basic computer knowledge and techniques. Your child will learn how to utilize the mouse and keyboard. Your child will also participate in activities that use technology to reinforce Huron’s curriculum. In addition, your child will be introduced to beginning keyboarding lessons by using the Type to Learn Jr. program. As with the older grades, your child will get the experience of working in Microsoft programs, Internet Explorer, as well as gain experience working on our classroom SMART Board.

Second-Sixth Grade: You can expect your child to acquire/enhance basic computer knowledge and techniques. Your child will learn proper keyboarding techniques by participating in the Type to Learn 4 program as well. Your child will also have the opportunity to work in the Microsoft programs: Paint, Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint. In addition, your child will get the experience of working in Internet Explorer (Research and Internet Safety) and Google Earth. Fifth and sixth grade students will get the experience of working in Gaggle as well, which is a monitored email, blog, chat, and message board program. You can expect your child to also gain experience working on our classroom SMART Board.
