Dear Huron Academy Families,
As PTC President and on behalf of the PTC Board of Directors, welcome back for another fantastic year! The Board has been extremely busy over the summer preparing dozens of great projects for students, families, and teachers, including assemblies (educational, interactive, and loads of fun), Restaurant Nights, special events, some new fundraisers and services, and much more.
The PTC Board is here as your Support Team! Our goal as always is to keep everyone well-informed, encourage parent participation, and find the best fundraisers and activities that fit the needs of all our families and teachers. Remember, all Huron Academy parents are automatically members of the Parent Teacher Club (PTC) and we hope all of you will take an active interest in our projects this school year. To make communication as easy as possible, we have assigned one board member to serve as the designated contact person for each grade (see back of this letter). I am also available to help parents from any grade. Please contact us with any PTC-related questions, concerns, or suggestions—we are always willing to listen and will help in whatever way we can!
This year it will be easier than ever for each of you to squeeze a bit of volunteering into your busy life. We will be implementing the popular and successful “2 Hour Power Pledge” program again, this is a simple yet empowering way for parents to navigate the array of volunteering opportunities at their children’s school. All it takes is two hours of your time for the entire year to strengthen our school community and show your child that his or her school career is a priority for you. You’ll find an intro to the “2 Hour Power Pledge” program in the folder this letter came in and the “2 Hour Power Pledge” sheet. Don’t forget, we only ask for 2 hours for the whole year but we always appreciate any amount of volunteering you are able to do.
I hope to see you at our first PTC meeting on Tuesday, September 13th, at 7 pm in Ms. Gagne’s room (main building). Don’t forget, you are also invited to our “Meet the PTC and More” Friday. September 9th, at 8 am in the banquet hall. This is a great opportunity to meet and talk with the PTC in a casual environment and there will be plenty of food!
