Huron Academy Parent Teacher Club 2008 – 2009
Show your child you care about school, and they will too!
The primary goal of the Parent/Teacher Club (PTC) is to assist with and enhance the school experience for all students. Through fundraising efforts and volunteerism we are able to provide family events, educational assemblies, special treats, and additional or updated equipment for the school.
Accomplishments in the past include the start up of the library, the playground equipment, A Smartboard, an interactive multimedia system for each classroom, two or three assemblies each year, Huron Academy flags for the flag pole, landscaping additions, a die cut machine and dies, a second copier for the teachers, and much more! One of our biggest current goals is to repay the loan for the brand new computers in the computer lab.
Every parent and teacher at Huron is automatically a member of the Parent Teacher Club, and it is only through your help that we can turn plans into successes.
The biggest way you can support your PTC is to attend the monthly meetings, usually the first Tuesday of the month, to stay informed and give your input on plans and decisions. Other ways you can help are:
Volunteer! Come for lunch once a month (or more) to give your teacher a break – volunteer an hour or more at events and fundraisers – ask about becoming a PTC board member in the future!
Clip! Watch products for Labels for Education (USE UPC CODES), Boxtops for Education, or Tyson Project A+ labels. Send these in with your child to his or her classroom.
Swipe! Apply for a Meijer Community Rewards card by filling out an application available at any Meijer store or by going on line at www.meijer.com and click on the sign-up tab. The code for Huron Academy is 245079. Then swipe it every time you shop!
Support! Support our fundraisers by selling or purchasing at least one item, volunteering your help, or simply making a donation by sending in a check through the office or your class, made out to Huron Academy PTC with “donation” in the memo line.
Participate! Participate in activities and events such as jean days, skating parties, family fun night, monthly restaurant nights, and many more!
