Second Grade Teachers
Hello! Welcome to Second Grade! My name is Angie Alonzi. I have been a teacher at Huron Academy since 2007. I graduated from Oakland University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
I enjoy cooking, and spending time with my family and friends. I love what I do and I have a commitment to excellence. The best times to reach me are after school, or feel free to e-mail me with your concerns or questions.
My name is Ashley Gardella. I graduated from Wayne State University in 2010 with a degree in Cognitive Impairments and Elementary Education. I have been teaching for 7 years, but this is my third year at Huron Academy.
When I am not teaching I enjoy cake decorating and spending time with my husband and son, Anthony.
I enjoy having parents that are involved in their child’s educational career. Please feel free to contact me via email or your child’s Classroom Dojo account.
My name is Tammy Powell. I graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelors Degree in elementary education and a language arts endorsement. This is my second year teaching 2nd grade at Huron, although I have also taught kindergarten, 4th grade, served as a title one teacher, and taught at a virtual school. I look forward to meeting your child and working together!
In my free time, I love to read! I also enjoy bowling and spending time with my family.
My goal this year is for your child to love reading as much as I do. Please be sure to let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I am confident your child will have a successful year!
My name is Mrs. Andrea Ropes. I started my teaching career at Huron Academy in 2002. I have had the pleasure of teaching First Grade, Second Grade, Third Grade, and in the Resource Room here at Huron Academy. I graduated in 2001 from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Elementary Education with a triple minor in Early Childhood, Language Arts, and Elementary Science.
I feel that communication is key to a successful school year. You can contact me one of four ways, send in a note, leave a message on my voicemail, send an email, or send a text through Class Dojo. I will get back to you at my earliest convenience. The quickest and fastest way to contact me is through Class Dojo. I will be using Class Dojo as my main means of communication as it is my preferred method.
