Hi! My name is Alexandra Leach. The kids here call me "Miss Alex". I am new to the Huron Academy team as of the 14-15 school year. I am definitely not new to the school, though. I attended Huron Academy as an elementary school student from the year 1999-2003. This gives me a different perspective on the school that has given me an advantage on connecting with the students at the school. I absolutely love working with all of the children here at Huron Academy. I am looking forward to all of the experiences to come while working with this dedicated team! Mrs. Knott Reading Recovery
Hello, I am the Reading Recovery teacher here at Huron Academy and my name is Katherine Knott. My role as a reading teacher is to work with first grade students who are struggling with reading and writing. I acquired my Bachelors of Science in teaching from Michigan State (GO GREEN), and went on to earn my Masters in Early Childhood from Saginaw State University. I began my career teaching Kindergarten in 2001, and have moved into literacy and reading. One of the goals I have for my students is to not only to become competent and confident readers, but to truly love reading and writing.
I am married and have 3 adult children all of whom attended Huron Academy. As a family we love to travel, play board games and watch movies. My favorite past time activities includes reading, baking and completing challenging puzzles.
I am always available to discuss your child so please stop into the office and ask for me, or email me your concerns at firstname.lastname@example.org.
