Ms. Waterman

Fourth Grade Teacher

Hello! My name is Mle (pronounced ‘Emily’) Waterman.

I graduated from Central Michigan University (Fire Up Chips!) in 2017 with a degree in Elementary Education. In January, 2018, I became a part of Huron Academy as a building substitute. The family-like atmosphere between the staff and students, as well as their families, is what convinced me that Huron Academy is where I wanted to teach. I am beginning my third year at Huron Academy, and I am excited for my new position as a fourth grade teacher.

Curriculum and educational opportunities are important and build a foundation in the classroom, but developing individually as good people is most valuable. In my classroom, showcasing good manners, honesty, and respect, along with taking responsibility for actions and knowing the difference between right and wrong, is crucial to the learning experience. They will have opportunities to learn and grow from their own experiences and perspectives, as well as, from others.

I believe parents and guardians are a student’s original teacher and are the largest influence on their life. Therefore, I feel that communication between parents and teachers is extremely important to a student’s success. Please feel free to contact me at school or send me an email at watermanm@huronacademy.org.
