Mrs. Barney

My name is Deanna Barney and this is my second year teaching at Huron Academy. I am so excited to be part of this wonderful community. I’ve been an Elementary teacher for eleven years. I previously taught second, third, fourth, and fifth grade. I graduated from Central Michigan University with a bachelors in Elementary Education. I have a major in Mathematics and a minor in Language Arts. Teaching children is my passion. It is my goal to help students learn, grow, and become problem-solvers.

When I am not teaching, I am usually spending time with my husband and our dog, Gus. We love boating, paddle boarding, and being on the lake together. In my free time, I enjoy shopping, cooking healthy, reading, and doing anything active.
