Our preschool program is focused on the total development of each child – cognitive, social, emotional and physical. The program is designed to encourage thinking both in and out of the classroom. Our teachers specialize in nurturing the young minds of children to aspire to all they are capable of.

Preschool Student Sandbox

 

Preschool is a time for your child to investigate, explore, discover and grow.  In preparation for future learning, we encourage children to think creatively and to make independent decisions. Our program fosters this through a variety of play-based, teacher-guided educational experiences. A typical day for a preschool student at Huron Academy starts with a morning message and includes large group work, small group work, planning time, individual work time, clean-up, outside play and snack/meal times.Our preschool program is offered Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m. and follows the Huron Academy school calendar, with a few minor exceptions. Our state certified teachers use the state approved HighScope curriculum that focuses on eight content areas:

Registration and Enrollment

The 2026-27 preschool year begins on September 8, 2026.

The total cost of preschool is based on the payment option you select.

9 payments – $650/month (Due the first of each month Sept-May)

2 payments – $2,650/each (Due Sept. 1 and Feb. 1)

1 payment – $5,000 (Due Sept. 1)

NEW EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAMS FOR 2027-2028

We are excited to announce that Huron Academy is expanding its Early Childhood Education starting 2027-2028 school year!

At Huron Academy, we are committed to providing high-quality educational opportunities that support children’s academic growth, social-emotional development, independence, and love of learning from an early age.

We understand that choosing the right early childhood program is an important decision for families. Every child develops at their own pace, and our goal is to provide programs that meet children where they are developmentally, while giving them the skills, confidence, and support they need for a successful transition to kindergarten and beyond.

Our new early childhood offerings will include:

Preschool 3’s and 4’s Multi-Age Program

Our Preschool 3’s and 4’s Multi-Age Program is designed to give young learners the opportunity to explore, discover, and grow in a nurturing, play-based learning environment. Through hands-on learning, purposeful play, creative activities, and age-appropriate instruction, children will develop early literacy and math skills, strengthen social relationships, build independence, and develop a strong foundation for future academic success.

The multi-age environment also provides children with opportunities to learn from one another, develop friendships, practice cooperation, and grow at their own individual pace.

Kindergarten Prep Program

Our Kindergarten Prep Program is designed for children who would benefit from an additional year of growth and preparation before entering kindergarten.

This full-day program will provide a structured and supportive learning environment focused on kindergarten readiness, early literacy and math skills, social-emotional development, self-regulation, fine and gross motor development, and building confidence and independence.

The goal of Kindergarten Prep is to give children additional time to grow academically, socially, and emotionally so they can enter kindergarten feeling confident, capable, and ready to succeed.

At Huron Academy, we believe early childhood education is about much more than learning letters and numbers. It is about helping children develop confidence, curiosity, independence, strong relationships, and a genuine love of learning.

By expanding our early childhood programs, we hope to provide families with more educational options while creating a natural pathway for children to begin their educational journey at Huron Academy and continue growing with our school community for years to come.
