Kindergarten Teacher

Hello and welcome! My name is Mrs. Jill Tanalski. This is my fifteenth year at Huron Academy; where I teach kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten.  Last year, and again this year, my class will be a Kindergarten/Transition split class. I am excited to be teaching this combination again with Mrs. Joshi.

I love being a part of Huron’s vibrant learning community. Before joining the Huron Academy team, I attended the University of Michigan receiving my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.

My classroom is an engaging, supportive learning environment where students feel safe and not only gain knowledge, but develop a life-long love of learning.  All students have the ability to learn. Through self-led, structured activities my students gain knowledge, confidence and independence in learning. Support from home and parent/teacher communication is essential; feel free to contact me any time with questions or concerns.

About myself, I love gardening, camping and reading a great book.  My husband of 40+ years and I have five children, two grandchildren and seven cats.
