Mrs. Tanalski

First Grade Teacher

Hello and welcome to the Huron Academy family! My name is Mrs. Jill Tanalski.  My journey at Huron Academy began in 2011 as a Kindergarten teacher. I have since developed and taught our Transitional Kindergarten program and now am excited to teach first grade again.

I love being a part of Huron’s vibrant learning community. Before joining the Huron Academy team, I attended the University of Michigan receiving my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.

My classroom will be an engaging, supportive learning environment where students feel safe and not only gain knowledge, but develop a life-long love of learning.   Through teacher and student-led structured activities; students will gain knowledge, confidence and independence in learning. Support from home and parent/teacher communication is essential; feel free to contact me any time with questions or concerns.

About myself: I live in the country with my husband of 40+ years.  I raised five children and shared my love of the out-of-doors; gardening, camping, and hiking with them.  I love spending time with my family and reading a good book.  I have three wonderful grandchildren.
