My name is Heather Kizer. I have 25 years experience in elementary education. Throughout the years I have worked with preschool through fifth grade. Also, I am a dog trainer. Eight years ago I trained my own dog to be a therapy dog. Therapy dogs are highly trained, certified and shared with the public. A therapy dog is calm, well mannered and friendly. My current therapy dog is a female German Shepherd named Katani. Katani enjoys being at school and loves the children. It is truly amazing to watch a child open up and talk or read to her. It is a proven fact that the use of a therapy dog enhances a child’s learning experience. Smiles are also guaranteed!
