Dr. Holloman
World Language Teacher
Bonjour! My name is Erica Holloman, and this year I will be teaching Intro to French, French 1, and the Flag Team in the afternoon. In the mornings, I will be spending time working with the DLL students at the Metro building. I am entering my twelfth year as an educator and my third year at Huron Academy. My previous experience includes teaching AP and on-level high school English, K-5 French, yearbook, long-term subbing in first grade, and holding positions as a Director of Admissions, an Assistant Principal, and a Pre-K through 12th grade Principal.
I graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Arts double major in English and French and a minor in Linguistics before completing a Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) in English (6-12) and French (K-12). I also graduated with an Education Specialist Degree (Ed.S.) and a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership (Ed.D.) from Oral Roberts University (ORU). In 2001, I graduated from Rhema Bible Training College with a diploma in Pastoral Ministry and in 2016 from Impact Bible Institute with a diploma in Biblical Studies.
My black and silver American Shorthair cat is named Zoe, and my black Rottweiler Chow-chow mix is named Samuel (Sam), who is a rescue from Kentucky. I take Sam to training each week at Sit Means Sit where he is in the Ambassador Program. His AKC titles include the Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Urban Canine Good Citizen (CGCU), Advanced Canine Good Citizen (CGCA), and Novice Trick Dog (TKN).
I also enjoy playing tennis and a variety of instruments, including B flat and E flat clarinet, flute and piccolo, and alto sax. Other passions include reading, quilting, film, theater, and coaching flag corps.
My desire is to see each student grow and succeed. I am looking forward to another wonderful year at Huron Academy. My email address is hollomane@huronacademy.org, and my website is hollomane.weebly.com.
