Media Specialist

As the Media Specialist at Huron Academy, I have dedicated the past two school years to overseeing and maintaining the school’s library where I hope to provide an engaging and resourceful environment for students. My journey with Huron Academy began in the spring of the 2021 school year, where I started as a lunch aide at the Metro campus before transitioning to the Utica campus at the start of the 2022 school year to take on my current role. I am also a proud member of the Tikanni school house, actively contributing to our vibrant school community.

My professional foundation is built upon a Bachelor of Digital Media Technology from Baker College of Clinton Township, where I specialized in Digital Video Production, video editing, and graphic design. I began my freelance video and photography work as Alger Video Design in 2010, specializing in wedding videography and photography, senior photos, and other event coverage. This background equips me with a diverse skill set that supports various media and technological needs.

Beyond my professional endeavors, I am deeply involved in the Boy Scouts as an Assistant Scout Master since 2010. My personal passions also include the tranquility of kayaking, the adventure of camping, and the art of photography. I have a particular fondness for dogs. My preferred colors are dark forest green and black. When it comes to dining, Applebee’s is my favorite sit-down restaurant, while McDonald’s is my top choice for fast food. My cinematic tastes lean towards the epic narratives of Man Of Steel, Batman v Superman and pretty much anything from DC. For a sweet treat, Mounds candy is my go-to, and I enjoy an A&W Root Beer. My favorite snack is Lay’s Salt & Vinegar Potato Chips. Musically, I appreciate the distinct sounds of Lindsey Stirling and the legendary rock of Ozzy Osbourne. While Walmart is my general shopping destination, I prefer Bass Pro Shops for all my camping gear needs.
