Mrs. Dobek
Middle School Teacher
My name is Melissa Dobek. This is my first year with Huron Academy! I was born and raised here in Michigan. I graduated from Oakland University in 2004 with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Ed (K-8). I got married and started teaching in 2005 down in South Carolina. I taught for several years in South Carolina in an 8th grade math class. We moved back to Michigan to raise our family and start a Chiropractic Business. After raising our 3 kids and creating a successful business, I decided to follow my heart and go back into teaching!
My husband and I have been married for 20 years. Our 3 children are Mailee, who is a freshman at Western Michigan College. Ashlyn, who is a senior at Eisenhower High School. Carter, who is an eighth grader at Romeo Middle School. I have two dogs, Addie and Mabel.
While raising my kids and starting a chiropractic business, I tutored, substituted, was a paraprofessional and an administrator assistant. I never stopped working with kids because they bring some much joy and fulfillment in my life! I have always wanted to work and teach kids because I love making a difference in their lives and to create a world of love and acceptance in their lives. I bring fun and creativity to my classroom. I am so excited to become part of the Huron Academy family!
