Mrs. Dobek

My name is Melissa Dobek.  I started here at Huron Academy in 2025! I was born and raised here in Michigan.  I graduated from Oakland University in 2004 with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Ed (K-8).   I got married and started teaching in 2005 in South Carolina.  I taught for several years in South Carolina in an 8th grade Pre-Algebra II math class.  My family and I moved back to Michigan to raise our family and start a Chiropractic Business.   After raising our 3 kids and creating a successful business, I decided  to follow my heart and go back into teaching!

My husband and I have been married since 2005. Our 3 children are Mailee and Ashlyn, who are both at Oakland University. My youngest Carter, who is in high school at Romeo High School.  I have two dogs, Addie and Mabel.

While raising my kids and starting a chiropractic business, I tutored, substituted, was a paraprofessional and an administrator assistant.   I never stopped working with kids because they bring much joy and fulfillment to my life!  I have always wanted to work and teach kids because I love making a difference in their lives and to create a world of love and acceptance in their lives.  I bring fun and creativity to my classroom.  I am so grateful to be a part of the Huron Academy family!
