Third Grade Teacher

Hello! My name is Shayna Saelens. I graduated from Oakland University in 2011. Since then, I have worked with various age groups, ranging from Kindergarten to sixth grade. I started this third grade teaching position in 2014, after substitute teaching and working as a TST member for two years at Huron Academy. The family feel is what attracted me to Huron Academy, and is one of the best qualities of the school!

I believe in setting students up for success. I do this by giving them the tools they need in order to learn, as well as communicating with the parents what is going on in our classroom. I’m available via email or by the Classdojo app. The Classdojo app is the best way to get a hold of me. I can be reached during school hours or after school until about 5:00.
