Volume 4, Issue 5
Dear Huron Academy Families,
Happy New Year! 2025 was a great year for our school, with new classes, activities, programs, and events, and we are hoping 2026 will be even better!
We’re preparing for an exciting Summer Academy with awesome events (and hopefully another amazing trip), new technology and curriculum, new extracurricular activities, and some updates to our interior and exterior that promise to make the school environment more inviting and engaging for students and families alike. We are working hard behind the scenes to continue making Huron Academy a unique and exciting place for children to get a quality education in our community.
Because this time of year is all about resolutions to making the new year memorable, I am imploring all of our families to come up with their own new year resolutions as a family that may aid our mission to achieve all of the above. Talk to your kids about how they want to improve for 2026. Whether it’s increasing grades by attending office hours/study hall that their teachers may host, trying out for a new club/sport, or even committing to reading 30 minutes daily, any increase in effort will lead to an increase in results – whether it’s better grades, better health, better sense of belonging, or better confidence. This applies to our parents as well – from being field trip chaperones to PTC volunteering, there are plenty of ways to commit to making our school a better place as an adult!
In short, set aside some time for goal setting this month with your family. With the quarter ending soon, and state testing time coming as well, it’s the perfect time to set the tone for the second half of the year academically, socially, and healthily for your family.
I hope that 2026 is better than 2025 for all of us, and I look forward to working with you all to make that goal happen!
Sincerely,
Joshua Sobczak,
Superintendent
