Huron Academy Families,
I hope that you and your family had a very relaxing spring break! There are about 10 weeks left this school year, which means we are in the home stretch of the school year! Spring testing and the 4th marking period start next week, and the staff is working hard to ensure a strong final quarter for our students.
The spring testing is our most important of the testing cycles, as we not only have our final round of NWEA testing, but also the annual M-STEP test. The results of these tests drive decisions at the school level regarding curriculum and instructional options for our kids, as well as funding at the state and national levels. As such, we always want to see strong and accurate test results. Keep your eyes on the lookout for specific testing dates/information for your child, and help support your child’s results by ensuring a good night of sleep and a healthy breakfast on their testing days.
As always, we will be providing students with opportunities to win some great prizes by showing effort on their tests, but this year we are increasing opportunities for students to win raffle prizes, including positive behavior and school spirit. Encourage your students to always do their best and stay motivated, and they could be coming home with some cool stuff for the entire family!
Finally, speaking of student success, a number of parents have asked about our traditional Husky Honors ceremony. We will be hosting an evening event towards the end of May that will celebrate students that have excelled throughout the year in a variety of categories. Student invitations will be sent out towards the end of this month. We’re confident that this will be a celebration unlike any other we’ve had at the school, and I’m excited about this and some other family events that we’ll be sharing with you in the weeks to come.
In the meantime, please keep supporting our staff and the excellence of your students during this final quarter of the year!

- Summer Academy information will be shared soon. Some details are still being worked out, but mark your calendars: M-Th, 6/16-7/24 are the dates!
- Be sure to sign up for School Messenger notifications if you haven’t already done so, as well as follow us on social media – this is a great way to stay in the loop with all things Huron Academy!
- Uniform order forms are available! Remember, next year the white/navy options are phased out and it is house shirts only.
- Our PTC meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month (with the exception of various holidays/events). It’s a great way to stay connected while supporting our school. Consider attending to learn more!
