December 2022
A Message from Mr. Sobczak
We are in the thick of the holiday season, which means things are busy! Events, parties, and shopping while trying to maintain our normal dayto-day lives can certainly be a challenges to families this time of year.
Fortunately, our students are learning some great ways to stay positive throughout these busy times. Our Positivity Project themes students are learning about in December are Kindness, Supporting Others When They Struggle, and Self-Control – timely themes considering the season! We learn just as much from our kids as they do from us, so talk to your children about these themes throughout the month and enjoy the positivity and cheer that trickles into your home.
Holidays aside, our extracurricular activities are in the full swing of things. Basketball is kicking off, LEGO Robotics just had an impressive showing at competition, and Destination Imagination is working hard on a weekly basis. Inside the classroom, students have been writing their own stories, learning ancient history, and conducting science experiments. Seeing our students having fun and learning both during AND after school is a greater gift than anything I could ask for this holiday season, and I have to give a shout out to our amazing staff for always working hard to keep things educational but engaging – be sure to express that gratitude when you see them next!
However you spend this busy season, whether going multiple celebrations or by not celebrating at all and just relaxing, I encourage you to keep your family first, and wish you all a safe, healthy, and happy December.
Sincerely,
Joshua Sobczak
