A Message from Mr. Sobczak

Huron Academy Families,

This week we have our Parent-Teacher conferences, and we are excited to welcome you all into our buildings for conversations about how to help our kids grow into bright scholars. Remember, conferences are only three times a year, but between PowerSchool, ClassDojo, emails, phone calls, or office visits, there are plenty of opportunities year-round for our families to chat about grades, behavior, or ideas that will be good for the school culture.

As a school, we depend on the support of our families to succeed in our goal of being a leader in the areas of academics and character education for our students – never hesitate to reach out! Additionally, our PTC meetings are a great way to keep your finger on the pulse of our school while being able to network with other parents. Parenting can be exhausting and stressful, but being able to share tips and tricks with others is a lifesaver, and if it’s good for the parents, it’s good for the kids.

Speaking of lifesavers, our Positivity Project themes for this month include Bravery & Gratitude, which are fitting for Veteran’s Day later this month. Thank you to all of serve or have served to make things safe and secure, so we can focus our efforts on our students – the ones that matter the most.

Lastly, for Thanksgiving month, something else to give thanks for: thank you to our Metro staff that worked so hard to improve our dismissal process – another lifesaver that I’m thankful for!

Don’t forget that we have the whole week of Thanksgiving off; we hope that you and your loved ones are able to make the most of the break and enjoy the family time.

Sincerely,

Joshua Sobczak
